Fire crews continue to work to contain the fire that started at approximately 12:45 p.m. Saturday aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

As of 6:00 p.m. Monday, it was listed at 2,236 acres and 67% containment. The reduction in size from earlier reports is due to more accurate mapping.

Full containment is expected by 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Southern California Interagency Team 1 took command of the fire at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

There are 492 firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, Camp Pendleton, and local, county and state fire departments.
