By | June 05, 2012

Camp Pendleton is scheduled to host the second weekend of the 2012 World Famous Mud Run series, Saturday and Sunday.

The Mud Run is open to both military and civilian participants and is a challenging 10K run with hills, tire obstacles, river crossings, two 5-foot walls with mud on both sides, a tunnel crawl, a slippery hill climb and a final 30-foot mud pit.

An estimated 13,000 runners ran this course the previous weekend and another 13,000 have registered for this weekend’s event.  Camp Pendleton expects an additional 18,000 people to attend this weekend’s post-race festivities.  These festivities would include food and beverages, giveaways, Marine Corps displays and a newly-renovated lawn concert venue featuring three lives bands each day.

Media are cordially invited to cover Saturday’s race.
