News Brief: Seasonal Flu Vaccine Available at NHCP[MIGRATE]

Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton will be offering the seasonal flu vaccine to all TRICARE beneficiaries from Oct. 1 to Oct. 6 from 8:30 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. at the pharmacy entrance of the hospital.
All high risk individuals including pregnant women, children younger than five but especially children between six months and two years old, people 50 years of age and older, people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions and people who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities should receive the vaccination. Health care workers should also get vaccinated.
A military ID card will be required to receive the flu vaccine. Anyone unable to receive the vaccination at the NHCP pharmacy entrance may receive the vaccination from their primary care clinic immunization office starting Oct. 9.
Flu vaccines may also be received at no cost from any TRICARE-authorized provider or at one of the TRICARE retail network pharmacies that participate in the vaccination program. Those with egg allergies may also be able to receive the seasonal flu vaccination. Please contact your provider for evaluation.
