The fire that started at approximately 12:45 p.m. Saturday continues to burn and is approximately 2,500 acres and 41% containment. Officials anticipate no fire movement and expect to contain the fire by Oct. 8.

Southern California Interagency Team 1 took command of the fire at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

There are 339 firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, Camp Pendleton, and local, county and state fire departments.

Patients have returned to the base hospital and the facility is now fully functional. O'Neill Heights housing residents reoccupied their homes at 5:00 p.m. Sunday and have electricity and water.

Team 1 is looking at developing a demobilization plan today and the release of excess resources and firefighters who worked through last night.
