Media Advisory #12-012 Wild Land Fire Fighting Exercise to take place aboard Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --

An aerial firefighting exercise involving units from Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Navy Region Southwest, CAL FIRE and San Diego Sheriff’s Department will take place here from 10 a.m. to noon, May 10.

 

The exercise is the fifth iteration of its kind and will provide ready, trained and certified resources to combat wild land fires in the region and culminates with a cooperative effort in extinguishing a simulated fire.  

 

Media attending the event will have the opportunity to witness the training evolution and will be given an opportunity to interview those participating in the exercise.

Media interested in covering this event must call the Camp Pendleton Media Relations Office at (760) 725-5044 and must RSVP no later than noon Wednesday, May 9. Members of the media who have RSVP'd will meet at Camp Pendleton's LAS PULGAS GATE at 8:30 a.m. on THURSDAY to be transported to the event.
