CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --
Marines, sailors and civilians were introduced to new technology during a semi-annual Technology Expo at the Pacific Views Event Center here Dec. 6.
“Our goal is to have as many base personnel as possible attend and gain product knowledge from this event,” said Taylor O. Smith, federal events coordinator for National Conference Services Incorporated, about the emerging technologies.
The expo included everything from audio-visual systems and fiber-optic networks to ergonomic seating accessories. Also represented were institutions for higher learning, emphasizing technology-based programs and classes.
This event is beneficial because it allows everyone to see the products right here on Camp Pendleton, said Smith. “We bring the technology to them, and it’s a great networking event.”
Collaboration is becoming more important every day. The new technology will enable clients to communicate, educate and innovate more efficiently by simplifying AV technology for meeting, conference and training rooms, said Ray Phillipson, the account executive for an audio-visual systems company.
“It’s not high-tech stuff; it’s more like push-a-button and go,” said Phillipson about how the products can make work easier and not more complicated.
Smith said she plans to continue brining technology expos to Camp Pendleton to inform service members and civilians on the newest technology available to them.
