CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. —
A transfer of command responsibility and authority from the commanding officer, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton to the commanding general, Marine Corps Installations West, will take place here in a re-designation ceremony on the 11 Area Parade Field at 2 p.m., April 5.
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and Marine Corps Installations West will merge under one commanding general and be re-designated as MCI West – MCB CamPen in the ceremony.
Immediately following the merging of these two commands, a retirement ceremony will be conducted for Col. Nicholas Marano, commanding officer, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
