Media Advisory #12-013 Camp Pendleton to host Semper Ride's Fun Day on the Runway

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. —
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton will host Semper Ride’s “Fun Day on the Runway,” at the air station here from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday.
The event will feature educational sessions designed for every level of motorcycle operator and is designed to increase safety awareness, improve handling and garner valuable information from seasoned riders. Semper Ride was created in 2009 as a response to the number of motorcycle fatalities and accidents involving Marines and has played a significant role in reducing mishaps.
Semper Ride is part of several safety-related events featured in the “101 Critical Days of Summer,” a Marine Corps-wide campaign designed to heighten safety awareness during the summer season.
Media are invited to attend and will be given an opporty to interview those participating in the event.

Media interested in covering this event must call the Camp Pendleton Media Relations Office at (760) 725-5044 and must RSVP no later than noon Thursday, May 17. Members of the media who have RSVP'd will meet at Camp Pendleton's MAIN GATE at 7:30 a.m. on FRIDAY to be escorted to the event.
