CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- New warfighting technology was displayed during the 2013 Marine West Expo here Feb. 13-14.

The expo showcased technology and equipment that could help service members conduct everyday misisons more efficiently and keep them safe in combat situations.

Vendors exhibited everything from bomb-disarming robots to combat boots with optimized comfort and durability.

“As an educator, what I found most interesting is the amount of brainpower, both technical and logistical, which has gone into all of these excellent products,” said Dr. Patricia M. Drown, dean of criminal justice at Allied American University, while at last year’s expo.

The expo gave service members a chance to familiarize themselves with gear they may have an opportunity to use during deployments. Attendees operated new surveillance systems and examined tactical tools, reinforced combat-wear, weapon systems attachments and more.

Lt. Gen. John A. Toolan, the I Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general, said the technologies on display are incredibly advanced. His Marines do not have any of that state-of-the-art equipment. He believes The Marine Corps needs to keep seeking innovative technology, because ultimately, it could save lives.

Marine expos are held nationwide. For more information, visit www.marinemilitaryexpos.com.

Hi Mr Peracca, our company has been working on a back up cooling system which we feel may be a great product with numerous applications. I would like to discuss with you. However, I have never worked with the military. Please let me know how or what we need to do to showcase our new technology. Thank You Thomas Flynn
