Road delays, lane closures due to annual IRONMAN triathlon

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --
The cycling portion of the 2013 IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon in Oceanside, Calif. will have riders embark on a trek throughout the roads of Camp Pendleton from 6 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30.
The closed cycling course takes riders through the Del Mar Gate, across the Del Mar bridge, north on Vandegrift Boulevard with a detour behind the Commissary and up Stuart Mesa Road. Riders will then travel along Las Pulgas Road to a turn-around point leading to old Highway 101. Cyclers will reenter the base at Cristianitos Road to San Mateo Road. The course turns south onto Basilone Road and then west on Vandegrift Boulevard retracing the inbound course after the Stuart Mesa Road intersection.
In order to facilitate this event, traffic control procedures will be in place throughout the day.
