Pharmacy implements new text message notification system

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --

The Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Main Pharmacy has implemented a new text message feature that can notify patients when their medication is ready for pick up, allowing them to leave and return later while medications are being processed.  Pharmacy staff simply take a cell phone number and will send patients a message when their medication is ready to be picked up.  Patients returning to the pharmacy can rescan their ticket with the bar code or DOD ID card at the kiosk and will be put back in the queue to be called first.

Hours of operation at the main hospital pharmacy are:  M-F from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m and Sunday they are closed.  The pharmacy is at its busiest between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Refill pickup is available at any NHCP Branch Clinic, including Family Medicine Oceanside Clinic, Mainside (13 Area) clinic, 21 Area Clinic, 31 Area Clinic, and 52 Area Clinic.

- Hours of operation at FMOC:  M-F:  9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- Hours of operation at other branch clinics are M-F:  7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beneficiaries are also eligible to receive their medication via the TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy at
