Impact area wildland fire

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --

The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is currently fighting a wild-land fire here.

The fire began at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the Zulu Impact Area of the base and has burned more than 80 acres. The fire started as a result of live-fire training.

Current assets on-hand include three brush trucks and one water tender.

There are no reports of any injuries or damage to any structures. At this time there is no threat to any of the surrounding communities of the base.
