CAMP PENDLETON --
The Camp Pendleton Fire Department, as well other mutual aid assets, has contained approximately 80 percent of a wild-land range fire that started yesterday aboard base. Strike teams remained on-scene overnight to contain the fire and monitor hot spots throughout the fire zone.
The fire began Tuesday during a training exercise at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the X-Ray Impact Area of the base and has burned more than 250 acres as of 4:30 a.m. today.
There are no reports of any injuries or damage to any structures. At this time there is no threat to any of the surrounding communities of the base.
