Press Release #12-050 UPDATE Vegetation fire burning at Camp Pendleton

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --

The movement of the vegetation fire north of the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton has been stopped. The fire is approximately 60% contained.

 

The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is currently on scene conducting mop up operations.

 

The fire started at approximately 2 p.m. and burned 4 acres.

 

The fire does not pose any threat to personnel and structures. Mutual aid aviation asset requests have been cancelled.

 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
