CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --
Artillery units will be conducting live-fire training exercises, here, Oct. 17 - 19 that will involve around-the-clock firing at training areas on the Northern part of the base from Saturday and ending early morning Sunday.
The training will resume with units firing High Mobility Artillery Rockets (HIMARS) in the Whisky and Zulu impact areas Monday, Oct. 20 and will be conducted from 6 a.m. to midnight each day until Friday, Oct. 24.
Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
