Media Advisory #18-003 - Camp Pendleton hosts USMC Battle Color Detachment

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton will host the 2018 Battle Color Detachment demonstration Thursday.

The Battle Color Detachment is a ceremonial unit from Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., consisting of over 100 Marines hand-selected for their tour at “The Oldest Post of the Corps.” The Battle Color Ceremony features the United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon and the Official Color Guard of the Marine Corps.

Each year, this highly skilled detachment travels worldwide to demonstrate the pride, professionalism, and “Esprit de Corps” that are hallmarks of the Marine Corps. They represent all Marines around the globe who embody our Corps’ values of honor, courage and commitment.

MEDIA: Organizations are invited to attend the 10:30 a.m. demonstration at the School of Infantry – West and should R.S.V.P. to no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.
