Brig. Gen. Daniel B. Conley assumed command of Marine Corps Installations West - Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton at the joint region and base headquarters building on July 22, 2019.

As both commander of the region and the base, he is now responsible for promoting the combat readiness of the operating forces, as well as missions of other tenant commands by providing training opportunities, facilities, services and support responsive to the needs of Marines, Sailors, and their families. Marine Corps Installations West-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is comprised of five Marine Corps bases and stations in the Southwestern United States.

Brig. Gen. Conley is a native of Falmouth, Massachusetts and was commissioned in 1988 following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy. He is a graduate of the US Marine Corps Command and Staff College and has previously served as the commander of Marine Wing Support Squadron 274, Marine Wing Support Group 27, 3d Marine Logistics Group, Bagram Air Field and the Deputy Commander for U.S. National Support Element - Afghanistan.
