CAMP PENDLETON -- The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is scheduled to conduct a seasonal hazard reduction burn Saturday and Sunday near the School of Infantry-West area of the base.

The School of Infantry-West is located between the base’s San Onofre housing and Camp Horno areas near the Northwest boundary of the base.  Camp Pendleton and San Clemente residents may notice smoke clouds during the burn.  The smoke may also be visible from Interstate 5.

The purpose of the hazard reduction burn is to reduce fire fuels in training areas south of the School of Infantry-West area.
