Press Release #12-049 Vegetation fire burning at Camp Pendleton

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --

A vegetation fire is burning approximately 500 meters north of the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital.

 

The fire began at approximately 2 p.m. and is moving north through heavy brush and oak fuels. Size is estimated at four acres. The Camp Pendleton Fire Dept. is responding and has requested mutual aid assets.

 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
