Press Release #13-018 Noise levels may increase aboard Camp Pendleton

Camp Pendleton units will be conducting a Mine Clearing Line Charge exercise in the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday.

Mine Clearing Line Charges are 1,750 pounds of linked C-4 (Composition C) explosives used to create a breach in minefields under combat conditions.

Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
