CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --
The World Famous Mud Run will take place this weekend June 4 and 5 marking the 23rd time the event is held on the base. It is open to both military and civilian participants and offers challenging 10K, 5K and 1K runs with hills, tire obstacles, river crossings, walls with mud on both sides, a tunnel crawl, a slippery hill climb and a final mud pit.
An estimated 15,000 runners have signed up to try and conquer the best and original Mud Run. Online registration is closed, but onsite registration is open the day of the race at 6:00 a.m.
Media are cordially invited to cover the Commanders Cup Friday June 3 featuring hundreds of Marines running the course. It will be a great preview of the race for the public days on Saturday and Sunday. Media are also invited to cover the event on Saturday June 4.

Confirmed media members will meet at Camp Pendleton's SAN LUIS REY GATE no later than 7:00 a.m. on FRIDAY AND/OR SATURDAY to be escorted to the event.
