Press Release #15-005 Weekend noise levels may increase in the vicinity of Camp Pendleton

Camp Pendleton units will be conducting extended live-fire mortar training exercises in the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from 6 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Additionally, artillery units are conducting live-fire training exercises that will involve firing on the Whisky and Zulu impact areas, on the northern part of the base from 6 a.m. to midnight from Monday, March 2 to Thursday, March 5, and from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
 
Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
