Community Involvement
Community involvement includes assessing community interest by conducting surveys, public meetings and information sessions, providing displays and tours, and facilitating boards and committees where community members can learn about the cleanup and share their ideas and concerns with cleanup officials. Addressing these concerns involves providing information, developing alternatives, responding to comments, and monitoring results. Guidance for community involvement in environmental cleanup is established by the Department of the Defense (DoD) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA)

IR Program

In March 2013, the MCB Camp Pendleton IR Program issued the 2013 MCB Camp Pendleton Installation Restoration Program Update, which provides a summary of the status of the active IR Sites on MCB Camp Pendleton.  In addition, this newsletter includes an overview of the Base, a summary of contaminants found on MCB Camp Pendleton, and information on cleanup program resources.

Community Involvement Plan

In July 2010, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton developed a Community Involvement Plan (CIP), which served as an update to the previous updated plan of November 2006 and the original 2002 plan.

Community Involvement
Distribution Lists

In conjunction with the development of the IR Program's July 2010 Community Involvement Plan (CIP), distribution lists have been generated to ensure that information on IR Program activities is available to the community in an appropriate and timely manner. Two distribution lists are available for IR Program personnel, a list of current Technical Review Committee members and a Community Distribution List of interested community members.
