Legal Assistance Notice


Due to force and community health protection precautions because of the COVID-19 ("Coronavirus"), Legal Assistance services are temporarily restricted to active duty Service Members only, from 17 March 2020 until 2 April 2020. If you are not an active duty Service Member and feel that you have a time sensitive or emergency issue, you are encouraged to call Legal Assistance at 760-725-6558 to speak to Legal Assistance staff.

Due to force and community health protection precautions because of the COVID-19 ("Coronavirus"), Immigration assistance briefs and appointments are suspended until 2 April 2020.  Personnel requiring immigration assistance are asked to call 760-725-6882, or send an email to gena.moreno@usmc.mil.

Mission Statement
The Legal Services Support Section is tasked with providing free attorney and paralegal assistance to uniformed service members, their family members and dependents, retirees and other eligible clients regarding personal civil legal matters. "Family members" or "dependents" are those persons identified in the sponsor's service record and/or who possess a valid United States Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card. Legal Assistance attorneys are available to assist clients with step-parent adoption, child support, consumer problems, contracts, debt and credit problems, immigration advice, wills, living wills, name changes, marital separation agreements, spousal support, and Notaries.
