New program grants frequent visitors base access

The Provost Marshal’s Office has implemented the Sponsored Visitor Program for social visitors who require access to Camp Pendleton more than three times in any 45 day period, outlined in BASEGRAM 22-09.

SVP replaces paper visitor passes with electronic passes and allows authorized service members or organizations to sponsor an individual for a specified period up to 90 days.

The program is solely for social visitors. It is not intended for anyone conducting business or employment on Camp Pendleton. A base issued business or rapid gate pass is still required for anyone conducting any kind of business on Camp Pendleton.

Eligible sponsors are active duty service members, retired service members, authorized reservists and their dependents.

Active Duty Sponsors with a Common Access Card can digitally complete and sign a Visitor Sponsorship Format any access gate or through PMO.

Sponsors who are not able to digitally sign and submit the form can print, sign and deliver the form to any gate or to building 1523, where the sponsor's identity will be verified in person. Visitors can expect to appear in the registration data base in three to four business days.

Once the visitor information is inputted and verified, they will be allowed access during the sponsored dates.

Authorized gates are the Main, San Luis Rey, Las Pulgas and San Onofre gates. All other gates are not approved for visitor use at this time.

Visitors must present a valid driver license or state-issued identification card at the time of entry and indentify who they are visiting. The sentry will scan the driver’s license or ID and record the name, license number, date, time and location of entry. The license or ID will then be authenticated and an instant background check through open public sources will be conducted, before access is allowed.

The sponsor does not have to be present at the time the visitors go through the gate.
