MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Service members, civilian employees and family members of Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, came together in celebration of this year’s fall festival at Santa Margarita Ranch House, Oct. 23.
More than 200 people were in attendance enjoying the many family friendly events.
From food to hay rides, miniature pumpkin giveaways and two different bouncy houses, the festival had something for everyone.
“It’s just a fun day to get with each other and enjoy ourselves,” said Rebecca M. Gamboa, family readiness officer, H&S Bn, MCB Camp Pendleton.
The main attraction at the festival was the Old Town Temecula Gunfighters show. Performers reenacted live shootouts, staged fights and procedures for positive gun control and muzzle awareness. Water jugs and soda cans were used to demonstrate the damage that blank rounds can do upon impact.
Later that evening, kids and their parents explored a miniature pumpkin patch, filled with small pumpkins and toys for children to take home.
“It’s a great opportunity to come out and enjoy the festival with the kids,” said Sgt. Maj. James R. Green, H&S Bn sergeant major, MCB Camp Pendleton. “With all the functions we’ve done the morale is great within the battalion.”
