MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --  More than 30 employers and schools attended the CivilianJobs.com Career Expo seeking the unique skill-sets service members have to offer at Camp Pendleton’s Pacific Views Event Center, Aug. 15.

The career expo hosted vendors that visit military installations throughout the country, meeting with military members who are transitioning to civilian jobs. The program is intended to help service men and women make promising career choices and ensure a fluid transition into the civilian workforce.

“Employers like the quality of individual that comes from a branch of service,” said Corey D. Branning, an operations manager for CivilianJobs.com. “They know that it is an asset to their company, hiring one of these highly-skilled individuals.”

For more than four years, the CivilianJobs.com Career Expo has made its way around the nation visiting military installations, giving anyone with base access direct contact with future employers looking specifically for a military background and eliminating the hassle of civilian competition.

Branning said the size of the event does not matter, employers are looking for quality.

“Last month at Camp Lejeune, employers hired five Marines on the spot,” Branning said. 

More than 281 people attended the event, including, but not limited to, active duty service members, spouses, national guard/reserves, veteran/retired and authorized civilians.
