Sergeant Major Sherri N. Cook

Sergeant Major Cook, a Washington D.C. native, has dedicated her career to serving in the United States Marine Corps.  Beginning as a Motor Transport Operator, she quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional leadership and earning meritorious promotions along the way.

Her career has been marked by diverse and challenging assignments.  As a Drill Instructor at Parris Island, she shaped the next generation of Marines. She honed her logistical expertise in key leadership roles within Motor Transport units, culminating in her assignment as Motor Transport Operations Chief in Okinawa, Japan.  Sergeant Major Cook also deployed to Al Asad, Iraq, where she served as both Camp Commandant and Motor Transport Operations Chief.

Seeking to further her impact, she served as an Assistant Marine Officer Instructor for the NROTC program at the Hampton Roads College Consortium, mentoring future Navy and Marine Corps officers.

Her exceptional leadership abilities led to numerous command positions. She served as Company First Sergeant at Parris Island and later as Battalion Sergeant at the prestigious 4th Recruit Training Battalion.  After graduating from the esteemed Army Sergeant's Major Academy, she went on to lead Marines at the highest enlisted level, serving as Sergeant Major for multiple units, including 2d Supply Battalion, Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366, and Combat Logistics Regiment 45.

Prior to assuming her current position, she served as the Training Command Senior Enlisted Leader. 

Today, Sergeant Major Cook serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of Marine Corps Installations West-Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, where she leads with the same dedication and commitment to excellence that has defines her career.

Her personal awards, including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with three gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars, reflect her unwavering service and significant contributions to the Marine Corp.  Dedicated to lifelong learning, Sergeant Major Cook holds a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Management and an associate in arts in Sociology.
