Morris Pike, also know as Captain Book, helped give away free books to children during the 18th annual Kids First Fair hosted by Marine and Family Programs at the Paige Field House here April 27. CAMP PENDLETON, Calif., -- Headquarters Marine Corps and the Camp Pendleton Fire Department dedicate Pendleton’s recently constructed fire station in commemoration of Sgt. Brian E. Dunlap here April 6. Dunlap served eight years in the Marine Corps before being transferred to the Individual Ready Reserves, at which time he served as a firefighter for the CPFD. In 2005, Dunlap was recalled to active duty and was assigned to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (forward) to advise and train the Iraqi Army. William Taylor, Camp Pendleton’s first director of natural resources, recollects past experiences during his 27-year tenure beginning in 1948.
