Jennifer Marino, a retired major, is cycling more than 2,700 miles, through 17 states, over the span of 77 days to meet with American Gold Star Mothers and their families in commemoration of service members killed in combat. One of Marino’s stops is the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial in Irvine, Calif. where she gathered rubbings of the names of several service members. She plans to hand deliver the names to some of the families she will visit as she crosses the country. - Jennifer Marino, a retired major, is cycling more than 2,700 miles, through 17 states, over the span of 77 days to meet with American Gold Star Mothers and their families in commemoration of service members killed in combat.
