Bison thrive living on Camp Pendleton - A plain bison herd roams the hills on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, April 19, 2023. Bison are not native to the San Diego area. The non-native wild herd of plains bison currently living on the installation descended from 14 founding animals donated by the San Diego Zoo that were released between 1973 and 1979. Educators Workshop 2023 - Educators from Recruiting Station (RS) Chicago, RS Twin Cities, RS Milwaukee and RS Indianapolis, experience the week long Educators' Workshop (EWS) from February 6 - February 10 aboard various Marine Corps Installations such as Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Marine Base Camp Pendleton, and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. EWS is designed to inform high school/college educators, community leaders, and communication professionals about the commitment and benefits of service in the U.S. Marine Corps.
