Reconnaissance Training Company Marines received an aerial view of Camp Pendleton during Special Patrol Insertion/Extraction training at San Mateo Landing Zone, April 17. The Marines, students of the Basic Reconnaissance Course, took turns being hoisted into the air by helicopter during the SPIE portion of their Helicopter Rope Suspension Training. Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Chairman of the House Oversight Government and Reform Committee, was escorted by members of MCIWEST MCB-CAMPEN Government and External Affairs on a tour of training facilities and tenant commands aboard Camp Pendleton, April 6. The day concluded with a tour of the Infantry Immersion Trainer, a hands-on, mixed reality training facility that simulates the sights, smells, sounds and feel of village, in designated locations. A group of senior executives from the Orange Country Young Presidents’ Organization came aboard Camp Pendleton for a day of touring base training facilities, observing range operations, and viewing aviation static displays, March 31. California Pizza Kitchen sent more than 700 Volunteers to assist School of Infantry – West Marines and Sailors to clean and renovate areas of San Onofre Beach, March 18. Gen. William Pendleton Thompson Hill Award, Feb. 24. The W.P.T. Hill Award was established in 1985 to improve food service operation and recognize the best mess halls in the Marine Corps. - Lt. Col. The room is located in the battalion's theater, often used for graduations, and the ceremony included the graduation of the Advanced Assaultman Course Class 1-15. Louis A.
