Lieutenant Colonel B. G. Grosvenor, USMC

Executive Officer, Headquarters and Support Battalion


LtCol Brad Grosvenor entered the Platoon Leaders Course in 1990 while attending Iowa State University.  Commissioned in December 1993, he then attended The Basic School, Quantico, Va. from August 1994 to March 1995.  Lieutenant Grosvenor was assigned to Artillery Officer Basic Course and graduated in September, 1995.  Upon graduation he was transferred to 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton.

Lt. Grosvenor took his first fleet assignment with Battery G, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines where he served as both the forward observer for the 31st MEU SOC (3rd Battalion, 5th Marines) and Battery Executive Officer.  He was then assigned to, and took command of Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, from December, 1997 toAugust,1998.  Captain Grosvenor accepted orders to Inspector & Instructor Staff Battery F, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines and served there until July, 2001.  Following I&I duty, Captain Grosvenor was selected, and attended the Artillery Officer’s Advance Course, graduating December 2001.  His next orders were to 5th Battalion, 11th Marines to serve as the assistant Operations Officer for several months before assuming command of Sierra Battery, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines.  The Battery locked on with Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 2/1 and deployed with 15th MEU, and saw combat in March, 2003.  Upon return from deployment, Major Grosvenor assumed duties as the Operations Officer for 5th Battalion, 11th Marines.

In May,2004, Major Grosvenor accepted assignment to MCCDC , returning to Quantico where he became the Plans Officer in Concepts and Plans.  July 2007, Major Grosvenor next duty was with  3rd Battalion, 12th Marines as the Battalion Executive Officer for a one-year tour.
In the summer of 2008 Major Grosvenor again returned to Quantico as the Future Operations Officer in TECOM G-3.  While at TECOM, he was promoted to LtCol November, 2009.  He remained in the Future Operations billet until receiving orders July, 2011 to Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Pendleton, where he currently serves as the Battalion Executive Officer.

LtCol Grosvenor is a proud father of two sons.  .  LtCol’s Grosvenor’s personal awards include: Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy Commendation Medal with combat V (3), and the Navy Achievement Medal.
