UPDATE: Camp Pendleton vegetation fire October 29, 2012 — The movement of the vegetation fire North of Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton has been stopped and is 60 percent contained.  The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is currently on scene conducting mop up operations.  The fire started at approximately 2 p.m. and burned 4 acres.  The fire does not pose any threat to personnel and structures. Vegetation fire burning at Camp Pendleton October 29, 2012 — A vegetation fire is burning approximately 500 meters north of the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital.  The fire began at approximately 2 p.m. and is moving north through heavy brush and oak fuels. Del Mar gate to close for construction October 19, 2012 — The Del Mar gate is scheduled to remain closed Saturday, Oct. 20, due to construction.
