MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- The holiday spirit is alive on Camp Pendleton.
Hundreds of houses here were decorated with hanging lights and light statues.
Many houses were non-traditional.
Instead of using the regular rainbow-colored lights, housing residents added their own personal touch to show their support for deployed troops.
One house had yellow lights in the shape of a ‘Support Our Troops’ ribbon in their window.
Another house had a banner that read ‘Welcome Home’ to its newly returned ‘war-fighter.’
Although many focused on their family hero, Santa was not forgotten.
His elves and reindeer were incorporated within each houses’ designs.
Christmas trees made of multicolored lights were posted on almost every lawn.
Although many Marines here are away to foreign lands, they can rest assure that there is someone at home who keeps the lights on for them.
