A new dental care provider has arrived at Camp Pendleton bringing along state-of-the-art technology, professional expertise and a few other amenities that might ease your mind while visiting the dentist.

Marine Corps Community Services transitioned its two SmileCare dental locations on Camp Pendleton to its new partner, Venture Health Group’s Pendleton Family Dental, with two completely modernized offices on Mainside and Pacific Plaza, March 1.

The remodeled locations will be equipped with the latest and most advanced materials and equipment in the dental industry including digital x-rays, advanced anesthesia technology and intra-oral cameras as well as ultimate comfort features.

“State-of-the-art (technology) is really fun to work with but excellent patient care is our number one priority”, said Dr. Nicholas L. Zaw, PFD dentist.

Treatment rooms are equipped with massaging dental chairs that provide extra comfort and relaxation to the lumbar and upper back areas of the body. The rooms also come standard with ergonomically designed eye goggles to allow patients to watch movies and TV shows during treatment.

The lobby offers four big-screen video game systems to help alleviate tension and the whole facility is decorated with soothing waterfalls and bamboo plants to create a relaxing environment.

“I want to let families know that Pendleton Family Dental’s main focus is to deliver the best patient care with as little anxiety and stress as possible in a comfortable atmosphere with a very experienced and caring team,” said Erik Kaw, chief executive officer of PFD. “We are here to help them.”

Pendleton Family Dental offers general, specialty and cosmetic dental services to family members, retirees, civilian employees and other members of the Camp Pendleton community.

Pendleton Family Dental’s Mainside location is open during renovations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located in building 1377, behind the base theater. The second office, located at Pacific Plaza, is closed during remodeling but is scheduled to open its doors April 27.

They are accepting all Indemnity plans and most preferred provided organization insurances including TRICARE Dental, United Concordia, Delta, Aetna, MetLife and Cigna. The Military Star Card is also accepted as a payment method for treatment.

“Our staff is continuously assisting previous SmileCare customers in every aspect for a quick and easy transition process,” Kaw said.

Both locations are preparing to provide dental care to the public seven days a week starting April 27.
