The Vineyard store located at Mainside between the Country Store and All Seasons, is now offering customers monthly wine tasting events.

A special Valentine’s Day session is scheduled for Feb. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mainside store, and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the San Onofre exchange.

The Vineyard houses wine and spirits from around the world, a walk-in beer cave, gifts, accessories, barware, cigar humidors and a wine tasting room named “La Sala Riunioni.”

Customers gather to sample a wide variety of wine and champagne from all over the world as well as selections from local growers.

“I didn’t know there were this many types of wines,” said Lance Cpl. Michael Muscara, automotive organizational mechanic, 9th Communications Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force. “The variety is impressive and the atmosphere is comfortable.”

Techniques and processes associated with wine tasting often seem complicated and intimidating to some people. However, every wine tasting session at The Vineyard has a wine expert present to serve and enlighten customers on the various aspects of wine and other featured beverages.

“Now I know why people analyze their wines before drinking,” Muscara commented. “I’m definitely coming back.”

And for beer lovers, the Vineyard also offers a refrigerated beer cave, which enables customers to purchase full cases of local and imported beer.

For more information on monthly wine tasting schedules and a list of featured beverages, contact The Vineyard at (760) 763-7751.
