Base residents no longer have to take a number to wait for state vehicle registration thanks to West Coast Auto Registration Services at Camp Pendleton’s Mainside Plaza.

The office facilitates services such as registration renewals, title transfers, and new license plates.

“Our focus is to help service members whether they are from here or from another state,” said Cindy Beebe, owner, West Coast Auto Registration Services, Camp Pendleton. “Active-duty service members, who are not residents of California, can save a lot of money by filling out a nonresident military exemption statement.”

Many members of the local military are unaware that if they are from out-of-state they are exempt from paying a full vehicle licensing fee, said Beebe.

The main difference between the WCAR and the Department of Motor Vehicles is that we specifically cater to service members, said Beebe. We try to save each customer money on fees and help make their experience expedient.
