Siren testing to be heard across base

The Camp Pendleton Mass Notification System is scheduled to conduct a series of tests here Dec. 4 - 7. 

As part of this testing, personnel and residents on base may hear the siren's test alarms.

On Dec. 4 the sirens in the vicinity of Horno, San Mateo, the School of Infantry-West and Las Pulgas will sound between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

On Dec. 6 the sirens in the vicinity of Talega, Christianitos and San Onofre Housing will sound between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

If the siren testing is not complete as scheduled, additional testing will be conducted on Dec. 7 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m..

 

The sirens will each sound for 4 to 5 seconds, followed by three short messages to test their public address capability.
