Marine Corps Installations-West held their Chef of the Quarter competition at the Edson Range chow hall on Dec. 4.

The competition brings food service Marines and civilians together to show off their skills and knowledge. The competition is two days long; the first day is all knowledge based and the second day is actual cooking. After day one the competitors are narrowed to four two-man teams that will cook on the second day.

During the competition many came from near and far to observe the new up-and-coming talents in the military food service world. One was Chief Warrant Officer Jason Davis.

Davis is the MCI-West, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton operations officer. His food service experience is unique because he has been from the drill field to flight aide for flag officers.
