Maj. Gen. Lawrence D. Nicholson, Commanding General, 1st Marine Division, shakes hands with World War II veterans during the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima Commemoration held by Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Installations - West, at the Pacific Views Events Center here, March 7.The event began with a march of the colors, an invocation, and a welcome aboard and guest of honor address. It culminated in a historical reenactment of the flag raising at Mount Suribachi by the Marine Corps Historical Company.
