Alyce Williamson reminisces about the time she served as a Marine during World War II while standing next to an old service photo of her on display at the Camp Pendleton Santa Margarita Ranch House, Feb. 19. The 93-year-old was influenced to join the Marine Corps by a military campaign slogan of that time, “free a man to fight.” The photo is a part of a special exhibit to honor women Marines.
