Solar panel installation at a Las Pulgas artillery shelter nears completion as contracted workers finish setting up 672 modules at Camp Pendleton. The artillery shelter’s solar panel project was only a portion of a larger $2.9 million base efficiency effort that has created more than 50 jobs for local residents. The overall energy-saving effort also includes a smaller solar array on top of the 22-Area recycling center and several lighting improvements in Camp Horno.
