MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton presented three civilian Marines the Length of Service Award for 30 years or more of service in the federal government, Aug. 10.
Col. Nicholas F. Marano, commanding officer, MCB Camp Pendleton, awarded LOS certificates and pins to the three recipients, to acknowledge contributions they made to the Federal Government.
The civilian Marines have had the opportunity to serve alongside service members for 95 years, combined.
Gregory V. Brooks, area facilities manager 20/21 Area Camp Services, has spent 30 years serving between Camp Pendleton and Long Beach Naval Shipyard. Brooks developed a continuation of operation plan that was adopted by the 20/21 Area commander, during his tenure here.
Brenda J. Carlisle, management technician, Human Resources Office Southwest, has spent 30 years combined working for various West Coast federal government facilities. Carlisle started working at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in 1969 and had the opportunity to work at various other offices around Camp Pendleton.
Terry J. Wondra, motor vehicle operator, Southwest Region Fleet Transportation, Marine Corps recruit depot San Diego joined the Air Force in 1974 as a power production specialist and served four years active duty and 13 in the reserves. During his 35 year tenure, he has worked for 32nd Street Naval Station, Travis, Vacaville and McClellan Air Force Bases and Sharpe army Depot.
“It is an honor and privilege to be able to present these Length of Service awards to our valued civilian Marines who put so much time and effort for mission accomplishment,” said Marano.
