Media Advisory #15-014 Camp Pendleton to host Multinational Watersports Event

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- The Water Warrior Event will be hosted Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 8am to 4pm at Del Mar beach. Water Warrior includes stand-up and prone paddleboard races, outrigger canoe and surfski races, a harbor swim, vendor villages, kid races and SUP yoga classes.

Athletes from Tahiti will be competing in the event as part of the new Air Tahiti Nui Waterman World Tour, which is making its first stop at Del Mar Beach aboard Camp Pendleton. Athletes have the opportunity to win cash prizes and opportunities to travel and compete in the Waterman World Tour.

All media interested in covering this event must RSVP to the Camp Pendleton Public Affairs Office no later than noon, September 11, at 760-725-6495 or via email at pendleton.media@usmc.mil. Members of media who have RSVP’d will meet at the Camp Pendleton MAIN GATE at 7:00 AM on SATURDAY to be escorted to the event.
