Press Release #12-010 Battle Color Detachment to perform aboard Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON -- The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, The Silent Drill Platoon and The Color Guard of the Marine Corps, collectively known as The Battle Color Detachment, will conduct two performances Friday aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

The Marines featured in the Battle Color Ceremony are all assigned to the “Oldest Post of the Corps,” Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C. and appear in hundreds of ceremonies annually in Washington, D.C., across the country and abroad.  For more information regarding the Marines of 8th & I, visit their website at  http://www.marines.mil/unit/barracks/pages/welcome.aspx

The first performance will be at 10:30 a.m. on the 11 Area Parade Deck for Marines, Sailors and civilian guests from the southern area of the base.  For those from the northern area, a ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. on the 52 Area Upper Parade Deck.

The events are free and open to the public.  Those civilian guests desiring to attend should have proper personal identification and vehicle information available for presentation upon entering respective entry points.
