Press Release #12-046 Noise levels may increase aboard Camp Pendleton

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Ca. --

Camp Pendleton units will be conducting live-fire artillery training exercises in the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from 6 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Friday.

Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.

Fixed-wing AV-8B aircraft will also be maneuvering within Camp Pendleton airspace 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Tuesday, and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday.
