Press Release #13-014 Noise levels may increase aboard Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --

Camp Pendleton units will be conducting Mine Clearing Line Charge exercises Saturday from 6 a.m. to noon.

Mine Clearing Line Charges are 1,750 pounds of linked C-4 (Composition C) explosives used to create a breach in minefields under combat conditions.

Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
