CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Master Sgt. Yasushi Yamakawa assembles a .50 caliber machine gun during the Amphibious Assault Crewman Course Nov. 5. Members of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force are training with Marines to prepare for receiving their own Assault Amphibious Vehicles. During the course the students learned radio communications, driving on land, driving on water, and preventative maintenance. Yamakawa is a member of the JGSDF and are currently a student in the AAC Course.
