CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - From left, Charles Howell, Dennis McGinn, Navy Capt. Charles R. Reuning and Lt. Cmdr Ben Wainwright talk about the Phase I and Phase II photovoltaic array (solar panels) at Box Canyon, near Wire Mountain housing. Assistant Secretary of the Navy-Energy, Installations and Environment, Dennis McGinn, visited Camp Pendleton to view the energy projects on base and to speak about energy goals for the future. “If nothing else, I want to leave you with an appreciation for how absolutely essential and inexplicably tied our mission readiness is to the kinds of energy we have and how we use it,” said McGinn. Howell is the resource efficiency manager for the base energy office. Reuning is a facilities officer with Camp Pendleton. Wainwright is the Assistant Secretary of the Navy’s aide.
